Congratulations to Stephen Simmons, whose performance at the East Anglian Regional Finals held at Corby over 26th and 27th June qualified him for the English Schools Decathlon Finals  at Bedford in September.  

Stephen set personal best performances in 100m (11.3), 6Kg Shot (11.47M); 1.75kg discus (38.85M) and 800gm javelin (39.56M) as well as a high quality 14.8 seconds for 110m hurdles. His total score of 5511points from nine events gained him second place - he didn't compete in the 1500m because of a foot injury.  Dan Jarvis was also in action, finishing seventh in the 3000m Steeplechase at the British Championships in Manchester in 8:53.56.
